LCI created a high level process map of the company's value chain and determined that raw material complexity was abnormally high. LCI collaborated with the production team, sourcing group and the research and development department to come up with alternative product formulations. The use of these alternative formulations created bulk purchasing opportunities and increased SKU velocity. The cost of goods were reduced by over $1million per year.
LCI worked with a global consumer packaged goods manufacturer to improve the return on investment from its marketing investments. LCI interviewed key stakeholders in the distribution team, the planning group, marketing department and retail store managers. The exercise uncovered many links within the chain which were prone to failure. Issues such as overly aggressive lead times, unreliable vendors and missing communication channels all contributed to the poor performance of the marketing programs.
